Our Story
Described
by
The Washington Post as "a virtual winter wonderland" the Christmas
Attic is a small family owned store in Alexandria, Virginia. We carry thousands
of holiday ornaments whether you are looking lacey Valentine Day hearts,
adorable Easter bunnies, spooky Halloween witches, Thanksgiving pilgrims,
patriotic 4th of July items, or Christmas nativities, we are sure to have just
what you need for decorating your home for the holidays.
Established in 1971, we are located in an 18th century tobacco warehouse
situated one block from the Potomac River in Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia. Our
charming store is considered a "must see" by tourists and locals alike. Two
large nutcrackers flank our entryway while lights, Christmas tree decorations twinkle throughout
our two floors and children love our toy train
that circles on a track suspended from the ceiling.
We carry sought after collectibles such as Christopher Radko ornaments, Department 56
villages and accessories, Byers’ Choice carolers, German nutcrackers and smokers, Wee Forest Folk
collectible mice,
Wilhelm Schweizer pewter ornaments, Fontani nativites, and others. But what we
really specialize in is the
hard to find, unique and handmade items. Americana and patriotic ornaments are a
favorite, but we carry thousands of other hard to find ornaments too! If you can imagine it, we probably have
it.
Our hope at The Christmas Attic is to make your holidays more joyful and
beautiful.
